Barry a committee member is typical of many; suffering in ignorance of his condition for many years and without support.  His poem says it all.

“40 years, waiting to be told
I am not to blame.
My own private, personal condition
has been recognised and has a name
a medical acknowledgement…
therefore others share the same.
But has someone else suffered,
covered up as I have?
The feelings, the situations, self-esteem, the shame.
We don't demand surgery or search for perfection
but embrace difference
and an entitlement to information.”
